In the Garden

"Lean on a garden urn---
Weave, weave the sunlight in your hair."
                      ~T. S. Eliot

It is finally beginning to feel like summer! Today was actually hot and I felt nice in a breezy skirt and cotton t-shirt. No jacket! I love summer. I love waking up in the morning and the deck door is open and I can see the sunshine and green grass outside. I love sitting at the ice cream table and reading with a popsicle. I love the heavy air and the long evenings. Summer is so beautiful! Here are a series of photos I have been saving for a summer day like today.

Angela Lace

"Lace is as much about the space between the threads
as it is about the threads themselves."
                     ~Lori Howe

I have been finding so many beautiful blogs and websites lately that I have to start showing you some of them! Angela Lace is one of my most favorite discoveries! Angela lives in Dubai where she creates all of her beautiful custom products including many baby items such as beds, cribs, moses baskets, and carry pouches, as well as other decorative items such as bedding, bags, pillows and more! I happened upon her blog completely by accident after following a series of links that led me to a beautiful photograph from her site. It is definitely worth a visit as well! Enjoy these few pictures from her blog and keep watching for more gorgeous blogs to come!

Lingerie

"If you're wearing lingerie that makes you
feel glamorous, you're halfway there to turning heads."
                                 ~Elle Macpherson

This month has been all about bridal beauty - everything from beautiful gowns and bridesmaids dresses, flowers, jewels and adornments, gifts, handmade accessories, and all of the things that make a wedding especially lovely! I wanted to do a post on beautiful lingerie not just because it is something that brides tend to think about, but because lingerie is so utterly feminine and significant in its ability to make a woman feel beautiful and confident within herself. I remember when I was a teenager my Mum used to talk about elegant ladies of past eras who  surrounded themselves with beauty in every detail - even in the places where it might only be seen by themselves. It was a matter of the utmost importance to them and something which I am trying to emulate in my own life! Details are more often than not more beautiful than the grandest show.
